Something quietly extraordinary happened in Central. Forty women walked into Carmela restaurant on a beautiful Hong Kong afternoon, and walked out having found a little more of themselves. This was the very first Year of You lunch in Hong Kong, and it was everything we hoped it would be and more.
Our founder Kate Low flew in from Singapore especially for this event. Not because it was on the agenda, but because she wouldn't have missed it for the world. That's the kind of love that started Perk By Kate, and it's the same love that filled every corner of that room.

Setting The Scene
Carmela in Central is one of those rare spaces that feels instantly warm. Light poured in, Mediterranean charm wrapped around the room, and from the moment the first guests arrived there was an energy in the air — the particular kind that only happens when women who have things to say finally find a room willing to listen.
The table decor, beautifully created by Charlotte from Places & Plates (@placesandplates.co), turned the venue into something truly special. Every detail — from the florals to the place settings — felt considered, intentional, and quietly joyful. It was the kind of table you wanted to linger at long after the meal was done.
The Vision
The heart of Year of You is a simple but powerful belief: fashion should feel like you. Not like a trend you’re chasing, or a version of yourself you think you should be. Just you — expressed through the clothes on your back.
And that’s exactly what we saw in the room. Forty women in Perk By Kate pieces, each one entirely different from the last. Different ages, different backgrounds, different stories — and every single one of them radiating their own version of confidence and beauty. No uniform. No rules. Just women who know themselves, and dress accordingly.
The Heart Of It
You can plan a beautiful venue, curate the most perfect decor, and style a room within an inch of its life — but none of that is what makes an event like this sing. It’s the conversations. The laughter that bubbles up before dessert. The story shared by a stranger that makes you feel quietly seen. The new friendship exchanged over a final glass of wine.
That’s the real magic of Year of You. It started in Singapore, and now it lives in Hong Kong too — the same spirit, the same sisterhood, and the same deep belief that women are at their most powerful when they’re in the room together.
Kate’s presence made the afternoon feel intimate in a way it might not have otherwise. She has a way of making every woman she speaks with feel like the only person in the room. It’s a gift, and on this afternoon, 40 women got to feel it.
